Paper Bunting Banner


Need some quick festive decor for your upcoming party? This fresh, colorful party banner is so easy to make that even the kids will have fun making this project.  And once the party is over use these banner to decorate the walls or doors of your children's room. So cool, huh!

You Will Need

  • Cardstock / Cover Paper
  • Pattern Paper
  • Stamped impressions or stickers
  • Alphabet Stickers
  • Paper Borders
  • Silk Flowers
  • Brads (metal fasteners)
  • Glue or Double Sided Tape
  • Foam Tape
  • Paper Cutter
  • Scale
  • Ink (neutral color)
  • Sponge
  • Hole Punch
  • Thread or Ribbon
How To Make

  1. Cut 12" x 12" cover paper into 9 equal squares
  2. You will need one 4" x 4" square for each letter
  3. Mark the center of the square on one side
  4. Using that mark, cut the triangle with paper cutter
  5. Repeat step 1 to 4 for coordinating pattern papers
  6. Glue the pattern paper on to the cover paper edge to edge
  7. Dab the sponge with ink (neutral color) and distress the edges
  8. Punch holes on two ends of the widest side of the triangle
  9. For light paper, add reinforcement sticker to protect the holes
  10. Tie a pair of triangles with a thread/ribbon making a chain of triangles
  11. Glue the border on the triangle covering the holes
  12. Using a foam tape stick each alphabets to the center of a triangle
  13. On two triangles add theme related stickers (here birthday cake & hat)
  14. Secure each flower with a contrasting brad
  15. Glue the flower to the bottom of the triangle
Tips and Ideas

  • From each 4" square you'll get 1 big & 2 small triangles
  • Make garlands using the small triangles 
  • Glitter the edges of the alphabets or add clear sparkles
  • Use other shapes like circles, hexagons etc instead of triangles
  • Add layers to the base by adding similar or contrasting shapes
