Paper luminary


With the festive season just around the corner, light up your home interiors with this simple, pretty and chic luminary for an enchanting effect. It's the most economical way to set the mood of any event like a wedding ceremony or a milestone anniversary or a special birthday. This low-effort, high-impact project is also the perfect thing to gift your loved ones.

You Will Need
  • Double-sided Patterned Paper 
  • Cardstock / Cover Paper (minimum 200gsm)
  • Hot Glue 
  • Paper Cutter
  • Scoring Tool
  • Scale
  • Pearl Pins
  • LED Candle
  • Paper Rose Pattern   
  • Leaf Pattern (see below)

How To Make

  1. Cut 4 pieces of 6" x 12" cardstock (250 gsm)
  2. Draw double diagonal lines to create mini diamonds across one of these paper
  3. Cut out the diamonds using a paper cutter and scale
  4. Repeat step 3 and 4 for the remaining 3 cardstock papers
  5. Cut 4 strips of 1" x12" pattern paper (same color family as cardstock)
  6. Score the strips at the center (1/2 inch) and fold it length wise
  7. Glue two cardstock pieces together using the strip as the base
  8. Follow steps 6 and 7 to glue the rest of the cardstock pieces  
  9. Cut 3 squares of 3" x 3" pattern paper (reverse side)
  10. Trace the flower pattern and cut the 3 square pieces to make flowers
  11. Trace the leaf pattern and cut 2 leaves from a contrast cardstock paper
  12. Group the three flowers together and stick them on the leaves
  13. Add 2 pearl pins to the cluster
  14. Glue the cluster to the project at your desired location
  15. Place the LED candle at the center of the luminary
