Unicorn Theme Birthday Party

Today, I am excited to share this Unicorn themed party that I recently designed to celebrate my niece's 5th birthday. From coordinated party decor and customized cake toppers to dream catcher craft activity, this birthday party was my little niece's dream come true. Unicorns are definitely a popular party trend today and will remain so for years to come!

Fluffed up with magic, shimmer and colors so bright, this birthday bash is a darling delight. Scroll down for a close-up look at this fabulous party decorations and check out the dream-worthy elements from this sweet occasion!

A mix of purple, pink and aqua were incorporated, rather than primary colors of rainbow.  To embellish the backdrop I combined circle garlands, party banner, glittered letter die cuts, giant flowers, unicorn horn, ears and eyelashes die cuts. Giant unicorn Mylar balloon, colorful paper fans and cut outs of clouds, stars, and unicorn were added to other parts of the party area. To complete the look, tassel garlands - reminiscent of unicorn tails were hung at the entrance.

The unicorn face focal wall was truly the highlight for this party set up. The unicorn eyelashes were cut from textured cardstock while the horn and ears were cut from regular cardstock and layered with pieces cut from glitter cardstock. The three giant flowers - a clever combination that's pretty without being too precious - were the statement pieces that stole the show for this party decor.

I am positively smitten with the way these cake toppers turned out! Using some glitter paper, regular cardstock and wooden skewers I layered the wings together to create a pair of cake toppers. Next I assembled the banner, glitter letters, pre-cut quilled flowers. horn and ears and voila - custom designed unicorn themed cake topper that stunned every guest present at the party!

This cake was unbelievable! My sister who is baker by hobby, made it and it turned out absolutely perfect. The top of the cake was covered with florals and the bottom was covered with pink candies. After all, what's a unicorn birthday party without massive amounts of colorful flowers and candies!

My niece and her friends were kept busy with this adorable Unicorn Dreamcatcher craft activity inspired by the many I've seen on Pinterest. We did not create the traditional webbed string and instead looped yarn around an embroidery hoop to keep it simple for kids to make. The yarn hangings are just simple loops that add lots of layers, colors and yarns. Finally the kids were assisted to glue the pre-cut glitter horn, ears, quilled flowers and leaves to the hoop. I was so impressed with how much care and detail they put into their creations!
